Right Materials from the Start
The core of water park rides – slides, play structures, and interactive features – is mostly fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP). FRP is naturally corrosion-resistant and impervious to moisture and chemicals. Metal components rely on stainless steel: 304 stainless forms a protective oxide layer, while 316 stainless, with added molybdenum, offers even better resistance in chlorine-rich environments. Handrails and platforms often use engineering plastics – non-corrosive, non-conductive, and long-lasting.
Process Matters – Protection Built In
Proper materials are only half the story. All metal structures undergo hot-dip galvanizing followed by multiple anti-corrosion coatings – effectively armoring the steel. FRP slides are molded by hand lamination, creating a dense, watertight surface. Seamless connection systems between slide sections eliminate gaps where moisture could penetrate. Every bolted connection is galvanized and secured against loosening – essential in a high-vibration, high-temperature-fluctuation environment.
National Standards Set the Baseline
Anti-corrosion requirements for water park equipment are not optional – they are mandated by Chinese national standards. Regulations such as the General Technical Conditions for Water Amusement Facilities set clear rules for materials, structure, and corrosion protection. These standards are non-negotiable; substandard materials or workmanship simply will not pass inspection.
Maintenance Is the Final Layer
Factory protection is just the beginning. Regular on-site maintenance is what keeps equipment safe over the long term. Steel parts require periodic rust inspection and touch‑up painting; FRP parts need checking for surface cracks and wear. A full inspection before each season, and proper drainage and freeze protection after closure, are essential routines. Long-term reliability comes from both quality manufacturing and consistent care.
