Overview
The Flume Ride is a fixed water coaster designed for park developers and investors. It combines a lift, an elevated track section, a dive, and a water splash. The ride uses 20-person boats and runs for about 4.5 minutes. It is intended for parks seeking a water-based attraction with a tall track profile.
Design and build
The track height is 27.4m. Boats are lifted at 1.1m/s and then travel through transition, elevated, dive, and return sections. The boat bow is shaped to create a splash on water entry. The ride is designed to the standards required by your market, confirmed per project. The design life is 20 years for the structure and 10 years for the boats.
- Three boats can operate at the same time.
- Zone interlock control helps manage boat spacing.
- Optical switches detect boat positions along the channel.
- Programmed dispatch timing supports safe operation.
Site and installation
The ride footprint is 145×101. It requires a power supply of 3N+PE 380V/220V 50Hz and an installed capacity of 517kVA. The installation type is fixed, so the ride is set up as a permanent attraction. Site preparation should account for the water channel, station, and lift sections. Foundation design is confirmed per project based on local conditions.
Operating notes
The ride uses several interlocks to support safe operation. These include interlocks for bar closure and locking, water level, air pressure, lift chain tension, and boat zone anti-collision. An emergency evacuation plan is provided. It includes procedures for stopping the ride, reaching boats, and guiding riders to exit. Trained staff and rescue equipment are required. Operators should follow the manufacturer's operating manual and local regulations.
