Overview
The Double Carousel is a two-level rotating ride designed for family entertainment parks and mixed-use developments. It carries up to 68 passengers per cycle across 60 horses and 4 cars. The upper and lower platforms rotate independently on a central column, giving riders a choice of levels. The 5-minute cycle and 3.6 rpm rotation suit continuous operation in high-footfall parks.
Design and build
The ride uses a single central column with diagonal bracing as the main support structure. Each platform is suspended from this column and driven through a motor and mechanical reduction system. The horse motion is generated by a crank and connecting rod mechanism, producing the up-and-down galloping effect. The design life is 15 years under normal operating conditions. All standards are designed to the requirements of your market and confirmed per project.
- Upper and lower platforms rotate independently.
- Single-column support with diagonal bracing.
- Mechanical reduction and crank linkage for horse movement.
- Designed to the standards required by your market, confirmed per project.
Site and installation
The ride requires a circular footprint of 200 m² with a 16 m diameter. It is a fixed installation, so foundation design and anchoring must be planned for the specific site. The overall height is 14.2 m, and the ride height is 5.7 m. Installation should be carried out by qualified personnel following the project-specific foundation and assembly drawings. Power supply requirements are confirmed during project planning.

Operating notes
Control interlocks prevent starting if the upper-level exit door is open, if maintenance doors are open, or if the variable-frequency drive reports a fault. A pre-start button must be pressed before the start button becomes active. In the event of a power or mechanical failure, the emergency stop should be pressed and the upper platform manually rotated to align with the stair platform for passenger evacuation. Operators should follow the emergency rescue plan and provide assistance to any passengers feeling unwell.
- Pre-start and start sequence interlock.
- Door and maintenance gate interlocks.
- Drive fault interlock.
- Manual rotation for emergency evacuation.
